CSULA: Week 6 General Meeting SVdP

WEDNESDAY, General Meeting 
 @ North Board Room (Student Union)

Shakey's Night  & Laser Tag

  • When? Friday, May 24
  • What time? 6-9pm 
  • Laser Tag after @ 231 E. Main St., Alhambra, CA 91801. All you can play for $15.00. Usually $22.00.

Hygiene Kits/ Feeding the Homeless 

  • Where?  St. Thomas More Parish and Downtown LA Skidrow (Gladys & 6th St.)
  • When & Time? May 11, Saturday, 9am
  • Serving : 100 hot dogs, buns, condiments (mustard, ketchup), Capri-Sun + Hygiene kits 
  • This may be our last Feeding of the Homeless this quarter, so please come out and let's help them out.

SVdP Spring Quarter Week 2: General Meeting



April 10, 2013

St. Thomas More Fundraiser: Deposited $291.04. Good to mix it up menu items. 
  Ideas: sopes, ground beef/corn beef, biscuits & gravy with meat, smoothie bar/stand. 

Shakey's Fundraiser: Made $104. Propose for another fundraiser at the end of the quarter.
Sponsor a child (9-12 or 13-17 year's old) raise $100-200
Recruitment Efforts: Spring and Summer quarters, bring flyers and spread the word.

Work Retreat April 19-21st @ Circle V Ranch: Leave @ 3pm , come back @ Sunday late-afternoon

Food/hygiene kits give to homeless @St. Stephen Martyrs (need volunteers) , collaborate with Public Health Student Assoc.

 Soup kitchens-collaborate with other Clubs 

SVdP Thrift store- volunteer  @ Week 7 Friday (May 17)  and let Manuel know
SVdP Thrift store then Dinner then Laser Tag Fellowship day of Week 7 (May 17)

CSULA SVdP: Moved Club Meeting Dates & Announcements

 General Meetings moved to  Wednesdays , Bi-monthly  
starting on April 10-June 5
 @ North Board Room (Student Union)

 Tabling @ April 3 (Wednesday) & 8 (Monday) @ 1-3:30pm,  for Spring Quarter.
   Come by the table by the Student Union Plaza, we would love to see your beautiful faces.
We will be there giving information on our fundraiser- Shakey's Night and Club Info.

St. Thomas More Tamales Sale
went well with the Confirmation Students for helping out.

 Shakey's Night @ April 5, Friday 5-8: 
Advertising and Tabling on April 3 and 8.

   Work Retreat @ Circle V Ranch Camp for members and potential members 
on April 19-21 (Friday-Sunday lunchtime) @ Santa Barbara. More info TBA,
 rides are provided if needed.

SVdP Officer Meeting: Week 10 Agenda



Dr. Espinosa, We need a signature from you because Shakey's Night is an Event outside of campus that has to be approved and before we can make flyers at the CSI office. I (Jenn) will be dropping it off in your box tomorrow (Friday), please let me know when you have signed it. Thank you for your support.

Jenn : Reserve Rooms (all Wednesdays, April 10-June 5)  & Tabling (April 3 & 8 @ 1:00-3:30pm, for Spring Quarter), Need to pay $5 for Locker Renewal

Fundraiser/ Services:
1.   Soup Supper- Confirmation Kids @ March 22 @ 6-7pm
2. Waiting for the OKAY, Shakey's Night @ April 5, Friday 5-8
  • Larry make announcement for bulletin
  • Jenn make copies of flyers to advertise on campus (first week of Spring Q.)
3. St. Thomas More Breakfast Sale, March 24, Sunday @ 8am-2pm
  • Larry make announcement for bulletin for March 16/17 
  • Get supplies from Costco/Smart n Finals 
  • Isabel &Jenn-shop supplies Friday, March 22, put food in fridge/locker
    Breakfast Burrito: tortillas, cheese, hash brown, chorizo, juice, donuts (3 doz)
  • Get Confirmation Students to help
4. Hold off Helping the Homeless: TB outbreak (CDC says be cautions): wait for the OKAY, no
   answer from Manuel 

5. Work Retreat @ Circle V Ranch Camp April 19-21st : For members and potential members.

  • Diego- Laser Tag/ Race cars, Weekend during Spring Break
    •  Camping-Sycamore Cove/beach (Tuesday night), camp site $35/group

CSULA Week 10: SVdP Last Winter Meeting

Hey Vincentians!
Today is the celebration of Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the 200th Anniversary. We look good for 200 years old (that was a joke).
It's Week 10 and it's crunch time close to finals. Just a quick reminder.
